Hermès Womenswear Collection Autumn/Winter 2016/2017 in Paris
The French fashion house of Hermès held its women’s ready-to-wear collection défilé last week. Being the third collection designed by Creative Director Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski, this collection continues to carry the grand elegance, refined finish with a touch of minimalistic approach. This season’s focus is a play on pleats for a long skirt in satin, the assemblies of block color in a pastel color palette, a return of long Bermuda shorts worn with boots in tobacco calf leather, the knit sweater and the silk twill printed in a palm tree pattern, patches of leather on a coat-dress, the succession of godet skirts, and short jacket highlighted with metal stud embroideries. Color used are a carefully thought out palette consisting of raw green, flecked grey, burgundy, blacky-blue, orange, tobacco and beige.
This dress, along with others of similar color and material, belongs to the collection’s “cardboard dress.” Cut with a longline silhouette, the sleeveless dress carries a fluidity from the low neck to the bottom.
This dress gives off a Scandinavian minimalistic approach. Wide sleeves and broad shoulder are conjoined from color blocks of light coral pink and arctic blue. Brown thin belt are strapped on the waist for the touch of femininity. The classic fashion house keeps itself up-to-date with modern elements.
Another minimalistic approach by Hermès this season. However, besides wide sleeves and broad shoulder, flecked-gray is used to tint the sleeves, from the collar to the buttons, and the side pockets. Long Bermuda shorts above the ankle are worn with tobacco calf leather boots to be a great match with the jacket.
This ivory color high neck jacket is cut slim on the waist with a wider bottom. Four pockets are on both the breast and the waist. Medium length skirt are sewn in pleat in a loose and fluid cut. This outfit is surely a statement piece for the upcoming season.
Another high neck jacket with broad shoulders and wide sleeves. The neck of the jacket has soft folds as if its a scarf. The whole outfit possesses a non-ostentatious luxuriousness.
The knitwear sweater features a silk twill with a palm tree print in the center. Color use of the arctic blue palm tree is wild and bold.
Leather material is often used by Hermès, and so is in this collection. Long leather sleeves are worn by the sleeveless blacky-blue top with blocks of leather material. Exposed shoulder provides a contrast with the neckline offering a playful and soft sensuality.
Burgundy color becomes the focus of this outfit. Long and wide jacket adds a touch of masculinity on top of the belted fuzzy sweater. Leather long Bermuda shorts flow like a skirt. High white calf leather boots are worn to give the outfit a sleek finish.
Beige leather jacket heavily drapes off of the shoulder. It buckles asymmetrically on the left side of the waist. Medium neck with a sleek edge offer a friendly and approachable impression for the wearer.
Short jacket is adorned with metal stud embroideries. Wide sleeves with a stretchable tight cuff possess a high-ground coolness.
The dark raw green dress is in a longline cutting. The bracelet is in lacquered metal and marbled stone.
