The four-day event is taking place at Starlight Clarkson North, with a tight and cozy lounge space for all its invited guests. The following runway show presented is the F/W 2016 collection by Ovadia and Sons. Launched in 2010, the brand Ovadia and Sons possesses a free, liberal, lively, and energetic aesthetics to be a great representation of the New York street style of this time. Born in Jerusalem and raised in Brooklyn, the twin brother Ariel and Shimon Ovadia founded the this youthful brand to emphasize a New York city spirit of perfection; attention to detail, high in quality, and modern in style. For this season, the designers continued their combination of “Hasidism” and “streetwear” and expressed it on to this collection.
The brand was granted for multiple titles, including GQ’s Best Men’s Wear Designer in 2011, and is recently nominated in the CFDA Swarovski Menswear Award for 2015. Click here to view more of Ovadia and Sons’ F/W 2016 collection.
The first outfit used mostly silk, comfortably and freely walking as the tassel belt dangles and sways by the wind. Designers continued to favor the form and shape of an officer coat as it is “formal without formality,” wrote by Lee Carter, writer at Vogue magazine.
As a fan of collecting vintage military clothes, designers wisely included elements from the inspiration. Military print and aviator jacket are all classic aesthetics of the brand.
Throughout the year of 2015, we have noticed how forest green bomber jackets have climbed its position in the fashion trend. For 2016, it seems like the design itself will hold its superiority for a while by including bombers in other materials and details. The longer finish like a fish tail on the back of the outer jacket, and calfskin & cashmere bomber of the inner jacket, will contribute to the playfulness and the innovativeness of the brand’s focus.
