NYFW Spring 2016: Lela Rose
A runway show that brightened up my day and stood out from other brands is the the one by Lela Rose. From the unique runway floor composed of crisscrossing color blocks to the distinguishing bell sleeves of the season, Lela Rose presents more than just a fashion collection, but a revitalization of American modern lifestyle. Design towards the unique aesthetics of elegance and sophistication in a symphony of brilliant colors, the brand has been elevating the definition of American fashion.
In this collection, metallic elements on garments gained the spotlight. Metallic filament and quills are sophistically hand-embroidered on gowns and outerwear as seen in a few of the following outfits. Leaf brooches seem to be a signature accessories for the collection. Earrings and necklaces comprise natural materials such as wood, smoky quartz and leather detail.
Overall tone of the garments draw attention to its shades of oxblood, indigo, dusted pink, fawn and ice. Coats used luxe materials such as sheared mohair, double-faced reversible cashmere, and felted wool to set a statement of modernity.
For the first time, Lela Rose offers exclusively three of its looks online for purchase beginning the day of the runway. Click here to “shop runway” of Lela Rose’s F/W 2016 collection.
