Summer Fragrance Essentials
It’s an unusual hot summer night in London – I am feeling really cranky tonight but I don’t know why…
They say trying out new fragrances and new smell can change you mood. It really is true. Your mood shifts when there’s a new scent coming behind your neck and your earlobes.
The three essential summer fragrances I recommend are these three: Black Orchid by Tom Ford, Tuberose Angelica by Jo Malone, and Terre D’Hermès by Hermès. The 30 ml Black Orchid is from last summer, Terre D’Hermès is a gift from my mom after her visit to Dubai, and Tuberose Angelica is my new fragrance I bought from the airport duty free shop.
Terre D’Hermès by Hermès
This Eau de Toilette by Hermès gives off a long lasting fresh woody scent. Terre, in French, means land and earth, which is exactly what I first felt from this fragrance; earthy, woody, vegetal and mineral. It feels as if I am lying on my back yard lawn gazing at the sky in a hot summer night. Try returning to the nature this summer by putting this fragrance on you.
“Feeling the earth, lying on the ground, gazing at the sky.” Jean-Claude Ellena.
Heart notes of Pelargonium and Pepper and base notes of Benzoin, Cedar, Patchouli and Vetiver.
On the bottom of the bottle, it shows the classic yet creative use of the Hermès “H.”

Black Orchid by Tom Ford
This classic Black Orchid Eau de Toilette is one of my favorites starting last summer. It is a warm spicy and sweet type of cologne. Blending with Black Truffle and Ylang and mingled with fresh Bergamot and delectable Black Currant, this fragrance is also very floral and sour. However, it is almost too strong and long lasting, so I don’t recommend spraying too much. I also recommend only using it in the evenings.

Tuberose Angelica by Jo Malone London
I am so thankful that I bought this cologne in the airport duty free shop which saved me around 30 pounds. I came across this fragrance when I was actually looking for unisex perfumes in clear bottles, but this intense range cologne got my attention. Like it is named, this cologne is composed of Tuberose, which is always used as a note in perfumes, and Angelica, which blossoms every summer like sparkles and starburst, attracting bees. This intense-cologne-range fragrance contains a base note of amberwood that will addict you to the fragrance for its amber-like scent. It is so attractive and desirable that I feel like I fell in love with myself again!
Price: £80 for 100ml because I bought it at the airport duty free shop.
