The Libertine Autumn/Winter 2017 collection was shouting colors and words. From capes to boots and from bags to even nails, designs were a coherent symphony of colors expressing the theme “love” in the most fun way possible.
The house followed its tradition of using vivid colors on delicate details. This season, blue, red and yellow colors were present on ruffle, embroideries, sequin and feather often worn over leopard leggings. Designs turned the runway show into a warm and lively carnival full of love, just the day before Valentine’s Day.
A red ruffled dress was printed with blue, white, and red geometric tile boxes as well as red and blue roses. Attached with a bow, the ruffled dress made in an airy fabric gave a smart flow in every movement.
Creativity on men’s garments was comparable to women’s. Men’s stand collar long coat was embroidered with “Libertine” in a fan shape where tassels draped. Paired with firefighter-like cargo pants, the outfit broke the conventional boundary of plain menswear by giving a touch of creativity.
Pop art letters puzzled on this set piece of dress shirt, trousers, and wide sleeve coat, shouting out bold messages on wide black and white stripes. Call it a coincidence or not, the collection showcased a black tote bag printed with “LOVE”
Loose knit cape in horizontal mix colors stripes was worn over a turtleneck sweater. Broader stripes on the bottom of the cape emphasized a gender-neutral silhouette. Black beanie was knitted with letters in a fiery yellow and red. A highlight of the collection was the shoe designs in which black leather was sewn with feather and pearl necklaces, and knee-length boots were embroidered with cultural details.
