Glamorous but in a different way, the Anniesa Hasibuan FW 2017 collection continues the house’s tradition of modest fashion designed for Muslim women, or anyone who admires presenting beauty without being too revealing. Only Hasibuan’s second season showcasing her work in NYFW, she again successfully earned enthusiastic applauses and praise from the audience. The theme of this season’s collection, “Drama,” is inspired by the life of women who has the power to change weaknesses into strength and uphold the ethics as a true women.
Indonesian designer Anniesa Hasibuan continues to pair each design with a headscarf, presenting us a pride in her religion. Mix and matching foiling, pleats, jacquard, and unique sequin, the classic, dynamic and modern collection also features winter gloves designed by Swarovski, pearls and beads. In this collection named “Drama,” warm, light and bold colors were used, consisting of black, bronze, white, silver, gold and broken white. These colors present women as pure, strong, confident, and gracious.
Delicate foiling shines in waves on the light wine color dress. Paired with a pleated top, the loose-fit design reveals elegance of femininity.
Pearls and beads embellish not only the collars, but also sleeve and throughout the white opened dress. A second layer is worn under for modesty while at the same time, golden embellishments present preciousness and luxuriousness on top of humbleness.
